670,073. Compressor pumps. ANGLO-IRANIAN OIL CO., Ltd., HYDE, J. W., and BRAIN, R. C. April 14, 1949 [March 17, 1948], No. 8026/48. Classes 8 (i) and 102 (i) A method of boosting gas comprises pumping a sealing liquid to a valve assembly connected in the gas supply line, the assembly consisting of an inlet valve and an outlet valve between which the sealing liquid is supplied, and pumping the gas through the assembly by means of a plunger pump, connected thereto, the volume of sealing liquid supplied during the outstroke of the plunger being less than the swept volume of the'plunger. The valve assembly comprises a body 16 having inlet valves 17 and outlet valves 20 communicating with a gas inlet pipe 22 and an outlet pipe 23 respectively. The space between the valves 17, 20 communicates by a pipe 13 and a capacity 14 with an adjustablestroke plunger pump 11. Between the valve body 16 and capacity 14, a pipe 15 supplies sealing liquid to the pipe 13.
