Abstract
668,912. Ferrules and tips. TINNERMAN PRODUCTS, Inc. April 3, 1950 [May 27, 1949], No. 8299/50. Class 134. [Also in Group XXV] End fittings are secured to tubular posts such as furniture legs by means of anchor nuts stamped from resilient sheet metal and having prongs 25 and sharp edged tongues 28 that dig into the tube walls under pressure from the screws engaging notched tongues 22, that seam the footplates 15 or other end fittings in place. Resilience is imparted to the prongs by notches 24 and the tongues 28 by deeper notches 27. Intermediate leads 26 just clear of the wall conform to the general shape thereof. Two other forms of end fitting are illustrated.
