Abstract

668,117. Automatic firearms. CZECH FACTORY OF ARMS, NATIONAL CORPORATION, and KRATOCHVIL, J. Jan. 19, 1950. [Jan. 19, 1949] No. 1432/50. Class 119. The barrel 1 is locked to the surrounding breech-block 2 at the time of firing by rollers 7 which are mounted in guideways 6 provided in the rear of the barrel. In the construction shown, the barrel is guided both at the front and the rear in the breech-block, and is formed, between the transverse guideways 6, with a groove 8 adapted to accommodate a wedge 9 secured to the fixed frame 5. When the barrel and breech block are in the forward position, as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, the wedge holds the rollers outwards into engagement with grooves 10 in the breech-block thus locking the latter to the barrel. The parts recoil together on firing until the barrel is stopped by an abutment 19 on the frame 5 and as the rollers by this time are clear of the wedge 9 they can now move inwards to enable the breech-block to recoil alone against the action of the spring 11.
