A friction clutch disc comprises a rigid metal plate with friction bodies carried thereon composed of cork granules bonded with a rubber compound resistant to heat and oil. These friction bodies may take the form of inserts in holes provided in the metal plate, or facings bonded to the surface of the plate and being provided with radial grooves for collecting and discharging. from the friction surfaces any oil or foreign matter.
