667,523. Sanitary closets. TWYFORDS, Ltd. April 15, 1950, No. 9306/50. Class 26 In a water closet of the type described in Specification 511,273, the air extraction pipe passes through an aperture in the floor of the flushing chamber and the gap is sealed by a rubber or other resilient part without said pipe being fixed to said floor. In the form shown, a dome-shaped rubber seal 28 is screwed on to the pipe 20 up to a shoulder 29 and the seal, which has a chamfered lower edge, is compressed when the cistern, together with the pipe 20, is lowered on to the basin. In another form. the seal is a rubber bush carried by the basin which co-acts with a wide shoulder on the air extraction pipe.
