Abstract

660,009. Vehicle wheels. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO., Ltd., and FLETCHER, J. July 23, 1949 [July 23, 1948], No. 19688/48. Classes 144 (i) and 144 (ii). Relates to wheels particularly for use on devices such as mobile power units for moving rail vehicles, but adaptable for use on ordinary roads. The tyre, shown as a solid rubber tyre 10 vulcanized to the wheelrim 8 is formed with dual flanges 13 which are spaced by a convexsection tread-surface 11 and have cam-shaped edges 14 to avoid wedging between rail-points. The flanges 13 and tread 11 may be provided with transverse grooves 16, 12 respectively.
