[Class 35] An electromagnetic device which may operate a fluid pump, contactor, relay or electric bell comprises a laminated core G mainly of E- shaped punchings but without the middle legs near the centre of the core to provide space for a push-rod C linking the armature A with its load which may be the diaphragm B of an air pump, the armature being carried by an adjustable spring E. The coil is A.C. energized or with D.C. through an interrupter not described.
