Abstract
1,187,884. Polarized electromagnetic relays. SCHALTBAU G.m.b.H. 17 Oct., 1968 [8 Nov., 1967; 19 Sept., 1968], No. 49237/68. Heading H1N. A polarized relay has a centrally pivoted armature 7 rockable on a soft iron body 4 mounted between like poles of two permanent magnets 2, 3 which are recessed as at 5 to embrace the relay coil 1. The armature cooperates with polepieces 6 and may be recessed at 8 and 9 so that the half 10 or 11 of the armature, when in the attracted position, forms with its respective permanent magnet 3, or 2 an almost complete enclosure for its end of the coil. Alternatively (Fig. 2, not shown) the armature may have two flat halves and co-operate with permanent magnets which substantially embrace the coils. The relay may be bi-stable as shown or made single-side stable by the addition of a biasing spring.
