657,215. Controlling animals. THEUNISSEN, J. Feb. 11, 1949, No. 3876. Convention date, Nov. 5, 1948. [Class 62] A head harness for a bull comprises a neck strap 3, a brow strap 4 and a nose strap 5 each provided with pointed studs 6 which induce pain when the animal thrusts with its head. The studs are normally retracted behind perforated and spring loaded plates 7, 9, which are freely supported by guide pins 11. On the nose strap, the pointed studs are only provided on the upper portion, the lower end of the strap being secured to a nose ring by a loop 13. The neck and brow straps are secured to two horn stirrups 1, 2 and the harness is supported in use by riders 16 which rest loosely on the horn roots of the bull. Side extensions 15 projecting in front of the horns are positioned at the level of the brow band.
