Abstract

657,171. Constructional building toys. RATCLIFFE, W., and HIBBOTT, R. H. Feb. 2, 1949, No. 2807. [Class 132 (iii)] A toy for constructing model buildings comprises a base plate 1 having rectangular holes 2 in intersecting rows and at equal distances apart, rods 3 of rectangular section, to fit the holes 2, and longitudinally channelled on their sides, panels of various heights to slide in the channels 4, and ceiling or floor plates 11 apertured to conform with the spacing and size of the base holes 2. Panels 6, 7, 9 may be apertured to simulate windows, doors or balustrades, and gable end panels 13, and rafter joist and ridge members 18 may be provided. Roofing panels 20 may be rectangular or triangular in shape and have hooked shaped members along one edge to be interlocked and to form a ridge C. The channelled rods are preferably of wood and the panels and base plate of cardboard. The parts may be coloured.
