Abstract
657,161. Anchor nuts; spring clips. TINNERMAN PRODUCTS, Inc. Jan. 24, 1949, No. 1889. Convention date, Jan. 28, 1948. [Classes 44 and 89(i)] Relates to anchor nuts and other forms of fastener preferably made from material such as cold rolled spring steel and consists in a construction that may be attached to any one of a range of thicknesses of sheets &c. The fastener comprises two body parts 10, 20, Figs. 1 and 2, extending from a connecting part 14, in the same direction. The part 20 extends as far as the hole 5 for the bolt &c. and has a semicircular notch in its edge surrounded by a retaining flange 23 to engage within the hole. The flange tapers from the centre towards each end to provide a camming action and facilitates the application of the fastener. The part 10 is slit as shown to provide a spring tongue 13 that is bent towards the part 20. The tongue carries the thread engaging members 16 or other fastening devices. In a modification the part 30, Fig. 12, is of the same length as the part 10, has a slot 32 leading up to the retaining flange 33 which is formed on a spring tongue 31 bent towards the part 10 which has an upturned leading edge to facilitate application. One of the parts may be formed to support a cable or a moulding &c.
