Abstract

656,443. Pliers. HERCKELBOUT, R. Jan. 13, 1949, No. 972. Convention date Feb. 18,1948. [Class 61(ii) ] Pliers for cutting wire are provided with detachable prismatic cutting members 5 of equilateral triangular cross-section, each vertex of the triangle being formed as a cutting edge. The members 5 are held in dovetail grooves in slotted jaws 4 by screws 7. The members 5 may be twice as long as the width of the jaws to allow the off-set part to be moved into the plane of the pliers for use when the edges of the other half have become blunt. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also male and female members, Fig. 3 (Cancelled), not shown, for bending wire. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
