656,011. Photographic objectives. ROSS, Ltd., and RICHMOND, G. A. Dec. 31, 1948, No. 33656. [Class 97 (i)] A wide angle objective comprises negative meniscii III, IV and positive meniscii II, V concave to a central diaphragm, a front positive meniscus I forming an airspace with the lens II, in the shape of a negative meniscus lens, and a planoparallel plate VI on the short conjugate side of the lens to reduce the residual distortion of the combination to the order of Œ 0.005mm. for yellow light (5875‹A) for a lens of 100 mm. focal length. Numerical data for one example are given. Specification 472,191 is referred to.
