Abstract

653,328. Clutches. PORSCHE KONSTRUKTIONEN GES. Feb. 25. 1948, No. 5578. Convention date, May 2, 1947. [Class 80 (ii) ] A sliding dog clutch member 3 of a change speed gear is provided on either side of its engaging teeth with spring friction rings 7, 8 which are adapted to first engage bevelled edges of the teeth 5 of the mating clutch element 4 to bring the speeds into synchronism before the dogs 3 and 5 engage. The periphery of the friction rings 7 may also be bevelled off as at 17 in a similar manner to the teeth 5.
