597,046. Flexible chamber pumps. BARR & STROUD, Ltd., and MACGILL, C. D. April 11, 1945, No. 9089. [Class 102 (i)] A pump for liquids carrying grit in suspension comprises a tube 2 of flexible material, such as rubber, supported in a cylindrical recess 1 that has a slot 3 through which may project a plate 4 reciprocated by a crank 6 to compress the tube. An inlet 11 fitted with a valve 12 and an outlet 9 fitted with a valve 10 are provided and the valves 10, 12 are formed from split flexible sleeves.
