The fixed magnet a may be raised or lowered to alter the rotor lift by turning screwed sleeve e. Fig. 2 (not shown) illustrates the use of a second cylindrical magnet similar to a instead of the dish-shaped armature j. In Fig. 3 (not shown), the fixed magnet comprises a disc secured to an axially-magnetized ring.
