Abstract

932,760. Electric motors. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. April 19, 1962 [April 21, 1961], No. 15222/62. Class 35. The rotor coil or coils 2 of an electric motor are energized in response to the illumination of one or more photo-electric cells 1 rigidly secured to the rotor shaft 3. There may be a single coil 2 energized by a pair of cells 1 or, as shown, three equispaced coils and cells on a hollow rotatable cylinder 6 surrounding a circular radially magnetized fixed permanent magnet 4 and surrounded by a fixed iron ring yoke 5. The coils and cells may be connected in delta, Fig. 3, and the motor may embody several such rotors possessing coils of differing resistances and energized simultaneously.
