Abstract

643,116. Washing-machines. BAKER PERKINS, Ltd. April 2, 1948, No. 9285. [Class 138 (ii)] In a laundry washing machine having a pipe 10 for supplying washing water to the machine 9, the pipe 10 having a control valve 14, a byepass pipe 11, 12 controlled by a valve 13 is connected to the water delivery pipe 10 on both sides of the valve 14, and a suction pump 1 is located in the byepass, the chamber of the pump being connectible to a container 7 for a bleaching solution so that when water flows through the byepass and pump the bleaching solution is entrained in the water and diluted and delivered to the machine. The suction pump may comprise an injector comprising Venturi means, Fig. 1 (not shown), and is preferably made of glass or other corrosionresisting material. The valves 13, 14 may be automatically controlled by a control cord which controls the washing cycle.
