Abstract

639,171. Barrel locks. MANTSAS, J. E. Dec. 19, 1947, No. 33655. Convention date, Oct. 22, 1941. [Class 44] The revolving cylinder of a barrel lock is provided with a plug 8 mounted transversely and adapted to co-operate with a conical recess 9 in the wall of the lock casing 1 so that as the key is turned from the closing position, the plug is displaced to engage in a conical recess 10 in the side of the key to prevent the key being withdrawn. The bottoms of the notches 11 in the key are formed flat and parallel to the axis of the key so that any small withdrawing movement permitted by the plug 8 does not cause the locking pins 3 to be forced against the lock casing with consequent damage.
