[Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIV] A heating device for the oil in the sump of an internal combustion engine comprises a dipstick which also constitutes an immersion heater. The dipstick is of hollow construction and the resistance coil is disposed within an insulating sleeve in the lower end. A two pin plug is secured to the upper end of the dipstick for connection to the vehicle battery or other source of supply. The dipstick has the usual markings thereon to give oil level readings.
