633,378. Aerating liquids. JONES, L. E. (Shawinigan Chemicals, Ltd.). May 16, 1947, No. 13187. [Class 14(i)] Apparatus for dispersing a gas or vapour in a liquid comprises a storage chamber 11 for the liquid and a pump 13 which puts the liquid under pressure, a centrifugal mixer 16 and a gas inlet 20 between the pump 13 and mixer 16. Means 22, 23 may be provided in the circuit for heating or cooling the mixture, or may be present merely to prolong the time of contact of the gas and liquid. The pump 13 may be replaced by raising the chamber 11 so that the pressure on the liquid is produced by a hydraulic head. The aeration may be produced without recirculating the liquid and gas.
