Abstract

764,148. Mixing. SOC. PER R. L. ROBERT & CIE. Feb. 8, 1955 [March 2, 1954], No. 3675/55. Class 86. In a process for homogenizing liquid or viscous substances which may contain solid substances in suspension a pump 9 placed on the outside of a mixing tank 1 supplies the liquid ingredients at a high speed to the tank through a pipe 14 provided with conical nozzles 15 directed towards the bottom of the mixing tank, so as to dislodge any deposit formed and to homogenize the mixture. The nozzles are directed against surfaces 20 of a collector 3 whereby the liquid is directed tangentially to the walls of the tank. The collector 3 is connected by a pot 4 and tube 5 to the suction side of the pump. Solids are introduced into the tank through the openings 18 and may be supported by gratings 17 until dispersed in the liquid.
