632,626. Weighing-apparatus. SOUTHALL & SMITH, Ltd., and JACKSON, H. E. Jan. 27, 1948, No. 2398. [Class 143] In an automatic feed weigher of the kind in which the dribble feed to the weighing receptacle b is effected by means of a roller g and a spring pressed gate h, this gate consists of a plurality of similar and independently movable pivoted bars, each of which is separately spring loaded by a plunger and a spring k. Thus large irregular shaped lumps of material may pass between the roller and gate without opening the whole gate and consequently allowing sudden surges of material. The main charge is fed from a hopper e to the receptacle b by a further weighing receptacle a, and the dribble feed is fed to the roller and gate through a duct f having adjustable guides m and n therein.
