Abstract

631,447. Pipe couplings. WATTS, A. E. Nov. 2, 1944, No. 21486. [Class 99(i)] Pipes 14, 15 to be coupled have flared ends 12, 13 drawn up on to a double-coned member 11 by flanged coupling-members 16, 17 having conical bores engaging the flared ends, the flanges being secured by bolts 23, 24 and by a collar 20 screwing on the member 17 and having a shoulder 22 engaging the member 16. Hexagon heads on the bolts engage V-shaped recesses 25 in the collar 20 to prevent the latter from turning.
