[Class 52 (i)] A door knob has a sheet metal ferrule 1 with a flared end 1b, the rim 1c of which engages a solid core member 2, and a sheet metal knob member 3 formed over the flared end 2b of the core and the rim 1c of the ferrule. In a modification an extension 4a of the core portion abuts the inside of the knob member 3 to reinforce it.
