628,713. Conveyers. TRANSPORTA, ZAVODY NA VYROBU DOPRAVNICH ZARIZENI, NARODNI PODNIK, and MALIK, V. Oct. 7, 1947, No. 26919. Convention date, April 24, 1940. [Class 78 (i)] In a conveying device for automatically conveying articles between working stations arranged in groups, a supplying and a removing conveyer which are parallel with one another are arranged so that the supplying. conveyer, through the medium of a holding device, always provides a stopped article at a group of working stations and the removing conveyer is arranged to convey machined articles to the next group of working stations where the conveyers perform opposite functions. Articles 10 are conveyed along a driven rollerway 1 through three working stations a, band c of a group I, and at stations a and b are fitted holding devices 3 and 4 arranged so that the weight of an article on an arm 6 thereof, Fig. 3, causes the arm 7 to project above the rollerway in such a manner that the following article is stopped until the article on the arm 6 is removed and the holding device is returned to its original position by a spring 8. At station c a fixed stop (not shown) is provided. After the articles have been machined at a or b or c in group I they are passed to group' II on a driven roller way 2 which now becomes a supplying conveyer and has similar holding devices arranged as before. To prevent damage to the articles by the rollers, which are frictionally driven, each article is conveyed upon a tray 11 which is removed with the associated article and returned to the start of the conveyer on the return portion 16 of the driving chain 15. In a modification (not shown) the driven roller conveyers are replaced by gravity rollerway conveyers.
