Abstract

627,553. Cycle stands. L'ETANG, M. M. DE. Aug. 28, 1945, No. 22137. [Class 136 (i)] In a stand for cycles having a spring governed prop b for supporting the cycle when not in use, the prop is connected to the frame of the cycle by a pawl c and ratchet s by means of which the prop can be adjusted to the required position, the pawl being connected to the frame of the cycle and having an axle a integral therewith which is surrounded by a helical spring r<SP>2</SP> acting simultaneously by compression for ensuring the lateral displacement of the pawl and by torsion for maintaining the pawl in contact with the ratchet. The pawl is released from the segment by downward pressure on a lever I. A spring is wound around the axle on which the segment s is pivoted and returns the segment and the integral prop b to the inoperative position.
