Abstract
627,073. Electric resonators. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Jan. 24, 1947, No. 2279. Convention date, Jan. 26, 1946. [Class 40 (viii)] In an ultra-high-frequency tuning system comprising a number of lines with ganged means for tuning each to resonance by adjustment of its length, a number of capacities, which can be finely adjusted and set, are spaced along the line to bring the length frequency characteristics of the various lines into agreement. The arrangement shown is a coaxial line 2 bent into a circle and provided with a rotatable arm 18 carrying a shorting member to vary the length of the line. The adjusting capacities are formed by small probes 21 with adjusting micrometer heads 20. In an alternative construction, the probes may be flat springs flexed by a micrometer screw.
