623,406. Roving delivery stop-motion for textile spinning &c. machines. COTTAM,. E., and COTTAM, R. B. July 31, 1946, No. 22753. [Class 120 (ii)] A roving stop-motion for textile ring-spinning and like machines, having roving-severing members controlled by feelers which bear against the yarns, has a centrifugal governor which renders inoperative all the feelers on a machine upon reduction of speed sufficient to cause yarns to slacken. When a yarn Q breaks while the machine is running at full speed, a feeler or control lever H swings forward and a comb G falls to impale the roving P. During re-threading, the comb G may be turned back to rest against a projection I, so as to hold the control lever H in an inoperative position. When the machine is not running at full speed, say 85 per cent or less, a stop bar B supports the control lever H. The bar B is turned by the centrifugal governor through arm V, bar X, lever N<SP>1</SP> and sliding collar M<SP>1</SP>. The machine speed at which the stopmotion is rendered inoperative by the centrifugal governor is adjusted by a screw G<SP>1</SP>.
