Abstract

620,771. Suction cleaners. SCOTT & FETZER CO. July 25, 1946, No. 22170. Convention date, Oct. 2, 1945. [Class 8(i)] In an operator propelled fan suction cleaner wherein a floor cleaning nozzle 11 including a rotary brush 18 driven by a belt 20 from the horizontal fan shaft 6 is detachable from the fan casing 1, an arm 29 on an adjustable member 22 on the nozzle 11 serves to engage the inner side of the belt and lift it from the shaft 6 during attachment or detachment of the nozzle. The member 22 comprises a rotatable plate covering an aperture in front of the nozzle. To lift the belt 20, the plate 22 is rotated counter-clockwise by a handle 24 to a suitable stop pin; the nozzle being releasably secured to the casing by clamps 15a. A tubular attachment for off the floor cleaning may be substituted for the nozzle 11.
