Abstract

620,648. Agricultural implements. LAYTON, D. A. Jan. 27, 1947, No. 2409. [Class 6(i)] A cultivating implement comprises a pair of frames 1, 14, joined together for towing over the ground, the first frame 1 carrying disc tools 6 mounted on parallel transverse shafts 3, and the second frame 14 carrying transverse bars 17 which smooth the soil. The shafts 3 carrying the discs 6 are rotatably journalled in the frame 1 and are of rectangular cross-section, the discs being spaced thereon by collars. The transverse bars 17 are of D- shaped cross-section and are secured to transverse T-section bars 16 by nuts and bolts 18. The bars 17 may be mounted to present either the curved or the flat surfaces towards the ground.
