[Class 80 (ii)] A coupling device for connecting one of two driven members 12, 14, such as bevel gears for driving the printing cylinder of a colour press in opposite directions, to a driving shaft 10, comprises a sleeve 20 with clutch teeth 23, 25 adapted to slide axially on the shaft 10 to effect engagement with internal teeth 24, 26 on the members 12 or 14. The sleeve 20 is positively locked in the neutral or engaged positions by a locking ring 35 mounted thereon with a limited amount of relative rotational movement and having internal tongues or dogs 40, 41 adapted to project through slots 42, 43 in the sleeve and engage in notches 30, 31 or 70, 71 or 60, 61 in keys 21, 22 on which the sleeve 20 slides. Springs 50 maintain the ring 35 in its locking positions from which it must be rotated by engaging a tool in holes 39 to allow the sleeve 20 to be moved axially. Specification 614,423 is referred to.
