Abstract

614,360. Locking levers. WEAKLEY, F. J., and DEAN, C. R. July 12, 1946, No. 20827. [Class 80 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIV] The lever 6 a of trailer 'brake (see Group XXXIV) is locked by a pawl 10 engaging a ratchet 12. The pawl is formed with an arm 16 by which it may be engaged with or disengaged from the ratchet, and is acted on by a tension spring 13 which lies on opposite sides of the pawl fulcrum 9 when the pawl is engaged or disengaged so as to hold it in either position.
