[Class 69 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIV] The pump member 18a of a variable speed hydraulic converter rotates inside a rotary casing 14 attached to the output shaft. Turbine blades 32 are attached to this casing which also encloses finned blades 56 and contrarotating blades 42 which drive the casing through epicyclic gearing. The ratio of this can be adjusted by the brake 142 locking the geared ring 126. Specification 614,225 is referred to.
