612,860. Electric radiators. ALADDIN INDUSTRIES, Ltd., HEBARD, H. C., and DEARING, B. S. May 31, 1946, No. 16627. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] An electric radiator comprises a number of metallic units each consisting of two parallel walls 1 with connecting passages Sa between them, heating elements 7 being disposed between adjacent units and provided with means for making electrical contact through the passages, mechanical connecting devices 13 surrounding the peripheries of adjacent units. Each metal wall 1 has pressed out at its upper and lower ends a frusto-conical portion 2 having a lip 3 to which are brazed tubular connecting portions 4 and 5. Channel-shaped metal strips 13 extend round the peripheries of adjacent units, the ends of the strip being secured below each unit. The heating elements 7 consist of wire wound on asbestos sheet and enclosed by an insulating wrapping, e.g. tape. The elements are connected top and bottom electrically, by channelshaped members 8 having a blade 9 at one side and tongues 10 and 11 at the other, between which blade 9 of the adjacent member can engage. Between two sets of units is a central casing 23 carrying supply leads, pilot light, and an external heating element 24.
