Abstract

612,046. Containers for medicaments. WELLCOME FOUNDATION, Ltd., TAYLOR, F., and STEEL, D. J. May 16, 1946, No. 14814. [Classes 66 and 125 (iii)] A pot, jar, or tin, &c., 10, e.g. for penicillin ointment, &c., is covered with an inert disc 16, e.g. of paper impregnated with ceresin, a ring 15 of rubber, &c., fitting a recess in a screw cap 11 with a hole 14 in the centre through which a needle of a hypodermic syringe may be passed to penetrate the disc 16 and inject penicillin into an ointment base in the container. A push-on cap 17 is depressed at 18 in the middle to overlie the opening 14. Instead of being screw-threaded, the cap 11 may be a push fit, a snap fit, or have a bayonet fitting.
