Abstract
610,718. Hinges. SOC. ANON. DES USINES CHAUSSON. Aug. 13, 1945, No. 20792. Convention date, April 9, 1943. [Class 65 (ii)] A hinge, particularly for vehicles, comprises a sphere 1, sockets 2, 3 stamped in the members to be hinged and in which the sphere seats, elastic split-rings 4 positioned on the sockets, plates 7, 8 on the outside of the rings, and a bolt 5 holding the assembly together. The bolt is of D-section and fits holes in the plates to prevent them turning. The sockets are lubricated by means of grooves in the surface of the sphere. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the ball may be hollow, or that it may be formed integral with or joined to one of the sockets. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
