Abstract

609,558. Electric cables. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. March 15, 1946, No. 8185. Convention date, March 30, 1945. [Class 36] An electric communication cable has a central core 2 of insulating material having a plurality of radiating arms, thereby forming grooves 3 between the arms. A bare or enamelled conductor 4 is laid in each of said grooves. A filler 5 of insulating material is placed in each of said grooves, retaining the conductors 4 in place. Either before or after the application of the filler 5 the core is twisted thereby forming the grooves 3 into helices. The outside of the cable thus formed is finished off by a double wrap 6 of metallised paper (faceto-face) and a vinyl resin jacket 7.
