Abstract

609,437. Watches. BUCHLER, W. A. March 14, 1946, No. 7965. Convention date, March 19, 1945. [Class 139] In a chrononograph with a winding arbor arranged to start, stop and cause the flyback hands to fly back to their initial position the fly-back motion is effected by rotating the winding arbor. A winding pinion 1 is engaged by a click 2 with a pin 3 co-operating with the arm 4 of a lever 5. The other arm of the lever is in contact with a bolt 8 fixed to a brake 9. In the position shown in Fig. 1 the bolt 8 also holds a returning lever 12 in its cocked position. If the winding arbor is rotated the lever 5 is rocked displacing the bolt 8 so that the brake 9 and the returning lever 12 are both released. The returning lever 12 is then acted upon by a spring 13 and acts upon cams 18, 19 to bring the fly-back hands (not shown) to their initial position. To cock the returning lever 12 the castle ratchet 17 is rotated half a pitch thus allowing the bolt 8 to be snapped back into position by the action of a spring 20.
