Abstract

606,869. Adjustable seats; brackets. HEARD, J. F. Jan. 22, 1946, No. 2061. [Classes 52(ii) and 52(v)] A vehicle seat is adjustably supported from above or below by links 16, 17 pivoted at one end near the front and rear respectively of the seat frame 13, the pivots at their other ends being in substantial vertical alignment on a fixed support 10 with quadrant plates 11 provided with a 'series of holes 20 with which holes 19 in the seat frame can be aligned. Spring bolts pass through the aligned holes and can be retracted when the seat is to be adjusted by turning a handle 29 on the seat front. In a modification the quadrant is toothed and pinions on the rear of the seat frame mesh therewith and can be operated by gearing carried on the rear links 17.
