606,152. Gauging surface roughness. BROWN & SONS (HUDDERSFIELD), Ltd., D., and TUPLIN, W. A. Dec. 22, 1945, No. 34860. [Class 106 (ii)] An instrument for measuring surface finish has a tracer member a carried by a lever b mounted pivotally at c on a tracer arm d, which is pivotally mounted at e on a tracer head f capable of being traversed over the surface being tested, the tracer arm being provided with a skid g, and is characterised by a sensitive element h to transmit indications of movement of the tracer point relative to the skid, and by a second sensitive element i to transmit indications of movement of the tracer arm relative to the head. Specifications 539,272 and 553,108 are referred to. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 564,209.
