604,219. Torsional-vibration dampers. BIRKIGT, L. July 5, 1945, No. 17233. Addition to 577,803. [Class 108 (iii)] The centrifugal pendulum of the parent Specification in which a pendular mass is suspended by at least two flexible connections from a support integral with the rotary member which is to support the pendulum, the connections winding and unwinding themselves during pendular oscillation on convex supporting surfaces integral respectively with the mass and the support, is modified by the formation of the mass and/or the support by a group of at least three plates united in a single block. The pendular mass comprises plates 19, 20, 21 united by rivets 25 and suspended by the flexible connections in the form of spring steel strips 4, 4<SP>1</SP> to the support comprised by plates 22, 23, 24 united by rivets 25<SP>1</SP> to the rotary member 2. Projections 7, 8 on the plates 19, 24, 20 engage recesses formed by the bevelled extremities of the plates 22, 21, 23 and the thickness of each of the latter is slightly greater than that of the respective plate 19, 24, 20 to allow free movement. Specifications 379,165, 382,787, [both in Group XXVI], and 444,222 are referred to as describing prior constructions of centrifugal pendulums.
