Abstract

6 0 2,18 5. Vacuum flasks and cups. WADE, W. L., and PRESTON, F. Sept. 5, 1945, No. 22805. [Class 128] [Also in Group XIII] In a combination vacuum flask and drinking cup a short annular wall 4 or a series of clips (4a, Fig. 4, not shown) extends upwards from where the usual outer cylindrical sheet metal casing 1 of the flask 1a adjoins the convergent metal cap 3 on such casing or upwards from the top converging metal cap (Figs. 5 and 8 not shown). The wall or series of clips is annularly corrugated or threaded at 5 and the cup has an annular beading or projection on its exterior to detachably engage with the wall or clips by screwing or snap fastening, the interior of the cup being smooth and free of projections or recesses. Several cups may be provided the wall or clips being deep enough to accommodate them when they are screwed or snapped in one after the other. The wall may be slit in one or more places to assist the resiliency of the snap action engagement. The Provisional Specification states that the cups may engage the wall or clips by means of bayonet joints.
