Abstract
600,147. Removing dust generated by grindstones. TATTERSALL, A. R. Sept. 28, 1945, No. 25226. [Class 8 (ii)] In a cabinet enclosed grinding machine of the kind wherein the down draught from the wheel or wheels is utilized to convey dust to a collecting chamber and thence to another compartment provided with filter means, the cabinet D comprises a casing M<1> for the abrading wheel M, a duct E, which leads to a compartment G formed in the cabinet base by a partition F and adapted to collect the heavier particles, whilst the remaining airborne dust passes through a conduit J to a filter bag K, housed in an upper dust-proof compartment D<2> containing the filter bag K and ventilated to atmosphere, and a motor compartment D<1> separated from the compartment D<2> by a vertical partition. A plurality of wheels may be mounted on a common shaft and each provided with separate draught ducts E leading to a common collecting compartment G and filter bag K. Vanes A<6> may be fitted to the wheel clamping plates A<5>.
