Abstract
598,677. Drawing. VAUGBN MACHINERY CO., and ARNOLD, J. C. Sept. 24, 1945, No. 24751. Addition to 598,663. [Class 83 (iv)] In a loading mechanism for a draw-bench as set forth in the parent Specification, the mainshaft 5 carrying the work-guides 24 is supported by bearings 15 carried in C-frames 10 mounted in bearings 12, 13. The frames 10 carry bevel gears 1 engaging bevel gears 18 carried on the shaft 5. In operation, as the shaft 5 oscillates to lower the tubes to drawing position, the C-frame is rotated out of the way of the tube. The bevel gears 17, 18 may be disconnected and the guides 24 passed in a horizontal plane when dealing with rods.
