610,656. Chucks. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. April 12, 1946, No. 11334. Convention date, April 17, 1945. [Class 83 (iii)] A flared article chuck assembly has three resiliently mounted rollers for holding down the flared end of a glass article. The rollers 8 are carried by arms 9 attached to yokes 11 pivotally mounted by means of bolts 14 on supporting blocks 13 having press fitted hollow pinion shafts 21 journalled in castings 1 and 2. A common gear ring 32 engages three pinions 31 secured to the shafts 21, one of which is coupled to a worm-wheel 39 meshing with a worm 42, simultaneous radial adjustment of the rollers being effected by rotating a the worm shaft. Each roller is held down on the flange 6 by a spring 30 constrained at one end by a flange 26 in the pinion shaft and at the other end by a head 25 on a pin 23 pivoted on a dowel pin 17 carried by the yoke.
