621,507. Drawing. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DU DURALUMIN ET DU CUIVRE. June 3, 1946, No. 16793. Convention date, July 30, 1945. [Class 83 (iv)] Dies.-In tube or bar drawing apparatus, the work is lubricated by lubricant supplied under pressure to an annular chamber 3 formed between the die 1 and a washer 2 separated by a narrow gap through which the lubricant enters. The die and washer are retained in position by a shrink ring 4 tightened into a die support 5 which forms a ball-and-socket joint with a supporting plate 7. The position of the die and its holder is adjusted before commencing drawing by means of screw 14. A pivoted door 13 to the die chamber may be held closed when drawing tube by the reaction of the mandrel on a guide tube 15.
