[Class 60] A cutting-off machine comprises a table having a section fixed to a support against relative translational movement and a section adapted to be moved to and fro alongside the fixed section, and a thin abrasive disc or wheel mounted for rotation about an axis located beneath the upper surface of the table so that the disc or wheel projects or can be brought to project above said upper surface, whereby material carried by the movable section of the table can be brought into cutting engagement with the wheel or disc. The fixed section of the table is hingedly secured to the support ; an edge of the movable section of the table is adapted to pass closely alongside one side face of the wheel or disc ; the abrasive disc or wheel extends into a recess in an edge of the fixed section of the table ; the abrasive disc or wheel is vertically adjustable relatively to the upper surface of the table ; the table comprises gauging or like means for the material to be cut. The particular machine described is the same as that described in Specification 564,641 which is referred to.
