[Classes 142 (i), 142 (ii) and 142 (iii)] A handloom heddle has healds 17 having eyes 19 formed by open loops so that after swinging a member 14 about its pivot 15 the warp threads can be passed between the free ends of the healds and entered into the eyes. The heddle is slidably vertically for shedding in a frame 28, which in turn is slidable horizontally on the loom frame to beat up the weft. Guide wires 21 may be attached .at their lower ends to the healds to prevent the warp threads between the healds from fouling the eyes 19. The cloth and warp beams 42, 43 are vertically adjustable so that they can be raised to the position shown for threading the heddle and lowered for weaving. The warp beam 43 is mounted on members 30 (to which extensions may be attached) slidable in the side members of the loom frame so that the distance between the beams 42, 43 can be increased to receive a fresh warp, which is then wound on to the beam 43 as this is returned to its normal position. The beams have pairs of spring fingers 56 between which the ends of the warp threads are wedged.
