Abstract

592,237. Supporting lamps. COOPER, H. C. Dec. 6, 1944, No. 24431. [Class 75 (iii)] [Also in Groups XIV and XV] A lighting fitting for an adjustable drawing- board 10 comprises a lamp 30 attached by articulated arms 28, 29 to a tubular member 16 which is rotatably mounted in a cable junction box 17 rigidly fixed to a rock-shaft 18 mounted in bearings 20 on the board. The rock-shaft 18 is rigidly attached to a tube 22 telescoping on a member 23 pivoted to a pin 25 extending from one side of the stand so that a large angular movement of the board from the vertical only causes a small tilting of the lamp. The drawing-board may be mounted by a leverlink mechanism 11 on pillars 12 which are vertically adjustable in sockets 13 in a frame 14. The board is balanced by counterweights 15.
